The tee is a fitting for pipeline systems, primarily used to alter fluid direction and connect the main pipeline with branch pipelines. It is a chemical pipe fitting with three openings—one inlet and two outlets, or two inlets and one outlet—applied at the junction point of three identical or different pipelines.
Classification by Pipe Diameter
●Equal tee: All nozzle end dimensions are identical.
●Reducing tee: The nozzle dimensions of the main pipe are consistent, while the branch pipe nozzle dimension is smaller than that of the main pipe.
Classification by Manufacturing Process
●Hydraulic expanded tee: A forming process that creates the branch pipe through axial compensation expansion of metal materials. It enables one-piece forming with high production efficiency, suitable for manufacturing standard wall thickness tees with DN ≤ 400.
●Hot-formed tee: Formed via radial compression of the pipe blank and stretching of the branch pipe section. Heating prior to pressing reduces the required equipment tonnage, and it offers wide material adaptability—ideal for large-diameter and thick-walled tees.
